"Coming Home, Again"
An iconic Vancouver scene. Coal Harbour, twisted through time and space, like you've never seen it before, or ever will, unless you own this print! From the peaks of the North Shore mountains to the shores of Dead Man's Island, a whimsical panorama through the eyes of GNAY.
"Into the Bay, Again and Again"
A whimsical look at Granville Island with the Burrard Street Bridge (sans suicide fence) standing in for the less picturesque Granville one. A solitary boat heads into English Bay on a quiet calm morning.
"Sunday Services"
Inspired by the work of William Kurelek, Edward Hopper, and the Pabst brewing Company. At the end of Point Robert's Gulf Road, a place of memories, where time stands still - Sunday worship of a different sort, for many.
"Field of Dreams"
GNAY explores his prairie roots in a homegrown Delta farmscape. I'm not sure if this is Vincent's dream or my dream, but I had fun creating it, and I hope that comes through. (Homework: "Wheat Field with Crows" by Vincent van Gogh). Further homework available upon request.

"Queen Mary School"
A former town hall for the city of Vancouver, this elementary school must have one of the best views of any school in the world. Built to last in 1915, it's one of the oldest schools in the city. A real beauty, eh!
"Industrial Arts, and Crafts"
Granville Island, where art and industry come together in an awkward dance on the shores of False Creek. How many "crafts" do you see?
"A Walk on the Wild Side"
My view of Ucluelet's magnificent "Wild Pacific Trail" replete with shipwreck and tsunami debris. Lou Reed is rumoured to be a big fan of this trail and print. Doo doo doo doo doo doo...
"Evolution #9"
Showing the harmony between art and industry, and between people, places, and things. Also showing a barefooted artist wearing a black funeral suit in an Abbey Road(esq) crosswalk. Is GNAY dead? I don't think so. I hope not.
"Who Let The Girls Out?"
Picasso's Bathers transplanted onto Tsawwassen's Centennial Beach. Sign says: No Drinking, No Smoking, No Fires, No Dogs. No rules being broken here!
"Down O'Hara Lane"
My view from the diving board at the Crescent Beach Swimming Club. A great place for a dip - into the art market!
12 X 16 SOLD OUT
"To Stuart Island"
Herman Melville meets Alex Colville on a boating trip in the picturesque San Juan Islands. Call me Ishmael.
"His Master's Vice"
A large dog ponders his master's wine and the difficulty of using a corkscrew with paws. Wuff. Wuff.
"Down the Coast Road"
First in my "GNAY of THRONES" series, this is from the quaint Northern Ireland town of Ballygnay. Not really. However, it is based on the harbour at Carnlough where "Game of Thrones" recently filmed and GNAY recently visited.
"Nearing Gallows Point"
A borrowed boat from E.J. Hughes rounds out this Gulf Island vignette from the mind of GNAY. It's only as calm as you make it.
"Above and Beyond"
My view from the Artists Walk on the White Rock Promenade. Great view! Note: although trains here are frequent, they never seem to stop for "The Traveler". Ask Rod Serling for the new schedule.
"A Train Runs Through It"
Semiahmoo legend says the giant white rock was hurled, by a god, across the Salish Sea! It doesn't mention how the cooler or beer got there.
"Mayne Movable Feast"
A quiet Gulf Island vignette on the shore of Active Pass. Red wine should always be served with red roofs. You might not see this scene at Georgina Point Park but you might see a passing pod of Orcas!
"On the Rocks with a Twist"
My Group of Seven offering. A well deserved break after hours of rugged paddling. Thanks for the delivery, mother ship!
"Legend of Rock"
You never know what you will see when walking on the Stanley Park seawall, especially when it is in the mind of GNAY.
"Another Roadside Attraction" or "Highway 17 Revisited"
Containers, containers everywhere but not a thing to ship. A real life, still life, on the new highway 17. I think the red-eyed crow is trying to tell us something. Listen.
"Reflections"
Although this looks like a building, it is more self-Portrait than landscape. Toasted butterhorns, coffee (just coffee) and cigarettes for breakfast before school. I'm still here, sadly, the restaurant is not.
"Gastown : Number 43"
An "Insiteful" walk down Water Street with Gassy Jack as your tour guide. You are either on the bus, or off the bus.
"Setting Sail"
Sometimes as I look at this Vancouver/West End skyline, I think Setting Sale might be a better title.
"Chozubachi"
15,000,000 people in Tokyo yet I was taken by the solitude and serenity of the temples and shrines. First in my series "100 views of Mount Fuji" - or is that Mt Baker?
"Schools of Thought"
GNAY's past haunts revealed and revisited. Which side of the tracks were you on? Tracks? What Tracks?
"At the Cafe"
The cafe seems familiar but do the patrons? Ever since the Beach Grove Cafe started displaying my work it is attracting a very "artsy" crowd.
"Real Real Gone"
Memories and munchies from my youth. When coffee was just coffee. Remember? Thanks for putting up with us Jon.
"Art Works Yard"
An abandoned culvert on Highway 99 was just begging to be painted. So I did. Another man's trash...
"Still Seeking Safe Harbour"
Inspired by the Ladner waterfront, fishing boats and fishing birds reflect in the calm solitude of a safe harbour and a full cooler.
"Artists in the Village"
A promotional poster to keep art alive in Ladner. Vincent would have been proud to participate! Limited edition prints are available at Muddy River Landing. Proceeds to support Artists in the Village.
"Morning Motel"
Long Hooperesque shadows kiss a local beach motel. " You can check-out anytime you like, but you can never leave". Is that pink champagne on ice?
"On the Beach"
Tsawwassen Beach then, now or soon. "The Shining" meets "On the Beach" under an ominous grey sky.
"Dead Calm"
The water is calm, but are you? Into the wild without leaving your couch. Isn't that what we all want? Grab some chips, crack a beer and buy this print.
"Revanquished"
Emily Carr meets Frida Kahlo on a Delta highway interchange beautification project. Ancient derelict totems from a vanquished culture are re-purposed - REVANQUISHED!
"Amsterdam"
A typical house on a canal. Tall and thin like the people. Sorry no red lights, coffee shops, or even bikes in this one.
"Dream Kitchen"
More of the kind you dream of than dream for. From a time when cigarette smoking indoors was a thing.
"Sea Star Vineyard"
Rising from the Salish Sea, a terraced vineyard, a picturesque winery and a built in clientele. Sip on a bottle of Ortega while enjoying the view of your new print.
"Cottage on the Bay"
A St. Vincent Bay retreat - from outboard to outhouse.
"Ours to Preserve"
Water, water everywhere. A time warped collage from forest to farm with culture and commerce.
Received 3rd place in the Federation of Canadian Artists first ever Digital Imagery exhibition.
Winner Corporation of Delta Heritage Banner Competition 2015!
Special Heritage Banner edition now available!
"Vincent's Shoes on the Danube"
The short and tragic life of Vincent van Gogh meets a moving WWII memorial on the east bank of the Danube, in Budapest.
"Melancholia"
A gentle sadness descends upon an otherwise idyllic cove. Don't worry, it will pass.
"No Splash"
If David Hockney had moved to my house instead of California he might have painted this. He didn't, so I did.
"Naked Lunch"
My modern day "Luncheon on the Grass". More shocking today, I'm sure, than in Manet's time.
"Naked Lunch"
My modern day "Luncheon on the Grass". More shocking today, I'm sure, than in Manet's time.
"Shelter from the Storm"
My rendering of a friend's recovery house in Vancouver. Sometimes things appear unexpectantly, like the flowers on the bushes that look like little helping hands. You never know where my mind will take you.
7.5 X 10 SOLD OUT
"We Irrigate with Ditch Water"
Diego Rivera waits for a bus on Arthur Drive. That's all.
"Here, Not Now"
The former Delta Heritage museum in its former glory - spruced up with the brush of GNAY.
"On the Path"
The stairway at Fred Gingell Park in Tsawwassen. The ocean view opens up when the leaves are gone. It can be a grind for some, but a beautiful path to the sea for everyone.
12 X 16 SOLD OUT
"It's No Picnic"
A pleasant afternoon in the park. Or is it?
"Dream Houses"
A whimsical beach scene replete with tsunami debris. Which house would make you happier?
"Disturbia"
A George Saunders inspired work with help from Modigliani and Frida. In this work, Frida's pain and Amedeo's melancholy marry with "The Semplica Girl Diaries". If you don't buy this print - at least read the short story!
"Storm Clouds on the Horizon"
A new mall on agricultural land is like a blight upon a Van Gogh landscape.
"Armageddon"
A trader's last battle is often fought in his mind. A puzzling and disturbing look inside the mind of GNAY. This painting said to be the subject of Dan Brown's next novel.
"The Night Trader"
For some traders the market never closes. Buy this print and sleep like a baby!
"The Loft"
A writer's Garret? GNAY's secret studio? I have no idea. It came to me in a dream. Buy the picture - live the dream!
"Looking for my Glass(es)"
A woman perches on the edge of a bed in a sunlit room. What has happened or is about to is unclear. From my mind to your wall.
